70yo M | Insights to eye issues

  • Both eyes appear markedly swollen, particularly the eyelids.
  • The conjunctiva (the white part of the eyes) appears very red.
  • There is swelling around both upper and lower eyelids.
  • The swelling is bilateral (affecting both eyes).

Several medical conditions could cause a similar appearance (such as severe allergic reactions, infections, inflammatory conditions, or other eye disorders), so the image alone is not enough to identify the cause.

GHK Perspective

In Germanic Healing Knowledge, the interpretation depends on which tissue is primarily involved, rather than the diagnosis alone.

1. Eyelid Swelling (Corium / Glands)

If the swelling primarily involves the eyelid glands, GHK associates this with an attack conflict or feeling soiled/contaminated conflict.

Possible experiences include:

  • Feeling personally attacked.
  • Feeling insulted or humiliated.
  • Feeling one’s reputation has been “dirtied.”
  • Feeling violated or contaminated.
  • Feeling that someone has “thrown dirt” on them emotionally.

The swelling would be interpreted as occurring during the healing phase after the conflict has been resolved or eased.

2. Conjunctiva (Separation Conflict)

If the conjunctiva is involved, GHK associates it with a visual separation conflict.

Examples include:

  • “I don’t want to see this.”
  • Losing sight of a loved one.
  • Missing someone.
  • Being forced to watch something distressing.
  • Separation from someone one wanted to see.

During healing, redness, swelling, tearing, and inflammation may occur.

3. Lacrimal (Tear) Glands

If the tear glands are involved, GHK often relates them to a morsel conflict—not being able to obtain or “capture” something desired. This is less likely to explain the prominent eyelid swelling seen here unless additional symptoms are present.

Because Both Eyes Are Involved

A bilateral presentation in GHK may suggest that the person experienced:

  • A major emotional attack affecting multiple relationships.
  • Feeling publicly humiliated.
  • Feeling deeply ashamed.
  • A conflict involving the whole family or social environment.
  • A conflict that affects “what they have to see” in life.

The exact interpretation would also depend on the person’s handedness, hormonal status, and which brain relay GHK associates with the affected tissue.

Questions a GHK Practitioner Might Explore

  • When did the eye swelling first appear?
  • What happened 1–14 days beforehand?
  • Did you feel emotionally attacked or insulted?
  • Did you feel “dirty,” ashamed, or falsely accused?
  • Was there someone or something you wished you didn’t have to see?
  • Were you separated from someone important?
  • Did the swelling begin after an argument or after the situation started resolving?

A detailed timeline is usually considered more important in GHK than the diagnosis itself.
