Hearing Loss

– Germanic Healing Knowledge (GHK) Perspective

Hearing loss refers to a reduction or absence of the ability to hear sounds, which may occur gradually or suddenly. Conventional medicine classifies hearing loss into several categories, including conductive hearing loss, sensorineural hearing loss, and mixed hearing loss.

From the perspective of Germanic Healing Knowledge (GHK), developed by Dr. Ryke Geerd Hamer, hearing-related symptoms are interpreted through biological conflicts affecting different parts of the ear and auditory system.

Each ear tissue corresponds to a specific conflict theme and brain relay.

1. Inner Ear (Cochlea) – “Not Wanting to Hear Something”

The cochlea is responsible for converting sound vibrations into nerve signals for the brain.

Conflict Theme

In GHK, cochlear conflicts often relate to:

  • “I do not want to hear this.”
  • “This information is unbearable.”
  • “I wish I had not heard that.”

Examples may include:

  • hearing shocking news
  • being verbally attacked
  • hearing disturbing information about oneself or loved ones

Biological Phases

Conflict-Active Phase

During the conflict-active phase:

  • tissue degeneration may occur in the inner ear
  • hearing ability may decline
  • tinnitus or sensitivity to sound may appear

This stage corresponds to the body being in sympathetic stress mode.

Healing Phase

Once the conflict resolves:

  • the body begins repairing the auditory tissue
  • inflammation and swelling may occur
  • temporary hearing fluctuations may happen

During this phase, some individuals may experience:

  • buzzing or ringing in the ears
  • temporary hearing loss
  • dizziness.

2. Middle Ear – “Morsel Conflict”

The middle ear (including the auditory ossicles and mucosa) relates to a different biological conflict.

Conflict Theme

GHK describes this as a morsel conflict, meaning difficulty “getting” or “processing” an important piece of information.

Examples include:

  • struggling to understand a situation
  • not receiving information needed to resolve a problem
  • feeling excluded from important communication

3. External Ear – Separation Conflict

The skin of the external ear is associated with separation conflicts.

Examples include:

  • loss of contact with someone important
  • emotional distancing
  • rejection or abandonment

These conflicts may affect the epidermal layer of the ear skin.

Laterality and Relationship Context

GHK considers biological handedness when interpreting symptoms.

For a right-handed person:

  • Right ear symptoms may relate to partner conflicts (spouse, colleagues, peers)
  • Left ear symptoms may relate to mother/child relationships

This mapping is widely discussed in seminars by Helmut Pilhar.

Why Hearing Loss May Appear Suddenly

In GHK, sudden hearing loss may occur when a strong emotional shock related to hearing occurs.

For example:

  • hearing unexpected bad news
  • being insulted or verbally attacked
  • discovering disturbing information

The body may temporarily reduce auditory sensitivity as a protective biological response.

Reflective Questions (GHK Approach)

When exploring hearing loss through the GHK framework, questions may include:

  • What did you hear just before the hearing problem began?
  • Did you hear something shocking or painful?
  • Did you wish you had not heard certain information?
  • Was there conflict involving communication with someone close?

Understanding the emotional context surrounding the onset of symptoms is considered central in the GHK approach.

Summary

From the perspective of Germanic Healing Knowledge:

  • Hearing loss may be linked to conflicts involving unwanted or disturbing information.
  • Inner ear symptoms often relate to “not wanting to hear something.”
  • Middle ear symptoms may relate to difficulty processing or obtaining important information.
  • External ear symptoms may relate to separation conflicts.

GHK interprets hearing-related symptoms as biological responses connected to emotional experiences and brain regulation rather than isolated mechanical problems.
