Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE)

From the standpoint of Germanic Healing Knowledge (GHK), also known as German New Medicine (GNM), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is not seen as a random or autoimmune disease. Instead, it is understood as a biological response to specific emotional or psychological conflicts.

1. Conflict Themes in SLE

According to GHK, each disease corresponds to a particular “biological conflict” that triggers a specific response in the body. Here’s how SLE is interpreted:

  • Skin-related symptoms (e.g., rashes) are linked to a separation conflict. This occurs when a person experiences a sudden emotional separation from someone important or from a significant group. The skin, as an organ of contact, reacts by manifesting symptoms.
  • Joint pain and inflammation are associated with self-devaluation conflicts. These arise when an individual feels inadequate or incapable in certain areas of life, such as in relationships, work, or other personal situations. Joints are often linked to one’s mobility and flexibility in dealing with life’s interactions.
  • Kidney-related symptoms, common in SLE, may point to a water or fluid conflict, which typically relates to fear surrounding survival or life-threatening situations.

2. Disease Phases in GHK

GHK proposes that diseases go through two main phases:

  • Conflict-active phase: The body reacts to an emotional shock or conflict, which can manifest as tissue loss, necrosis, or dysfunction.
  • Healing phase: Once the conflict is resolved, the body initiates repair mechanisms. This phase often brings swelling, inflammation, and pain—symptoms commonly seen in SLE.

3. Chronic Nature of SLE

SLE is often chronic because conflicts may be retriggered or relapsed, keeping the individual in a loop between conflict-active and healing phases. This cyclical pattern explains the flare-ups and remissions commonly experienced by lupus patients.

4. No Autoimmune Concept in GHK

GHK does not recognize the concept of “autoimmune disease.” In this framework, the body never attacks itself. Instead, every symptom is viewed as part of a meaningful, biologically driven response to resolve a conflict—not as an error of the immune system.

5. Holistic Healing Approach

To heal from SLE, GHK emphasizes resolving the underlying emotional or psychological conflicts. This may involve identifying the specific moment or event that triggered the conflict, releasing unresolved emotions, and restoring peace in the individual’s emotional and mental landscape.
